This page summarizes all the essentials you will need to know to get started with CustomFit.ai.

Update Domain URL

When you sign in to CustomFit.ai dashboard for the first time, you will be prompted to enter the domain URL(Ex: customfit.ai) of the website which you wish to personalize.

Installing javascript snippet

  1. Click on the App settings from the dashboard sidebar.

  2. Click on copy button under the Javascript snippet section.

  3. Paste the copied code snippet just before the head tag on each page of your website.

Installing chrome plugin

Installing the plugin into the chrome browser enables you to edit your website with WYSIWYG editor. Follow the below steps to install the plugin

  1. From the dashboard sidebar click on Chrome Plugin and the file.

  2. Unzip the downloaded file.

  3. Open Google Chrome and go to More tools->Extension (or in the URL type "chrome://extensions/")

  4. Enable "Developer mode" at the top right corner.

  5. Click on "Load Unpacked" button at the top left corner.

  6. Select the folder location where you unzipped the plugin file. And click on the open button at the bottom.

Create an experience

Any website should change and modify itself in various ways to make sure that they deliver the most relevant content, resulting in a personalized user experience when they land on to your website. To provide a personalized experience you need to create an experience by following the below steps:

  1. From the dashboard sidebar click on the Experience engine.

  2. Click on the Create Experience button and provide the details as requested

    1. Name: A meaningful name for your experience that will allow you to easily locate it on the dashboard.

    2. Key: Give a unique key to reference an experience.

    3. Description: Briefly describe what this experience is about.

    4. Page Paths: Enter the website page path to which you wish to personalize. For example, the home page(/), pricing page(/pricing), etc.

  3. Once all the required fields are filled then click on create experience button.

Creating a behavior

A behavior is a set of website changes made to a specific target audience. To create a behavior follow the below steps

  1. Click on the experience under which you wish to create a behavior.

  2. Click on the Add behavior button.

  3. Then give the name for your behavior and also a brief description such as the kind of target audience, etc and click on the Save button.

  4. After you have created a behavior click on the Open Visual Editor button and select the page which you wish to edit.

  5. Once you have made the necessary changes on the website click on the Finalize button.

Targeting and Rollout the experience

Now you can add the rule to target the behavior to a segment of the audience. Power on the experience to make it live.
